Part of a series of satirical tobies featuring prominent politicians amusingly portayed in the style of the 18th century Fiddler and Midshipmite jugs. Aside from the famous Jarvis toby, this is one of the few 18th century-styled Churchill figures ever produced. Garbed in tricorn hat, frock coat, knee breeches and buckled shoes, Churchill is "playing on his violin any of the laments he might have expressed during the downs of his career," as one description has it.
